Shelley AdinaShelley Adina's Lady of Devices book cover

RITA Award® winning author and Christy finalist Shelley Adina wrote her first novel when she was 13. It was rejected by the literary publisher to whom she sent it, but he did say she knew how to tell a story. That was enough to keep her going through the rest of her adolescence, a career, a move to another country, an M.F.A. in Writing Popular Fiction, and countless manuscript pages. Along with her bestselling steampunk series written as Shelley Adina, she writes women’s fiction set in Amish country under the name Adina Senft. Between books, she loves playing the piano and Celtic harp, making period costumes, and spoiling her flock of rescued chickens.

Pat AmsdenPat Amsden's A Ghostly Affair book cover

Pat is a writer of romance and mystery who lives in Victoria and works for the local hospital. For as long as she can remember she has loved stories. First reading them and then making them up. Sometimes that got her into trouble when she was younger but that’s another story! She studied journalism in college but got side-tracked raising a family and working a variety of other jobs to pay the bills. Writing fell by the way-side. The years went by and one day she decided to check out a local writer’s group. There was a workshop with an exercise. Write something that had the hero and heroine meeting within the first page. Maybe there could even be a kiss! She decided, why stop there, let’s put the heroine on top of the bar! Many revisions later, the result was Lost In Vegas! She went on to create the Death by Chocolate mystery series, set in Victoria and available on Amazon. These books became best sellers on Amazon.com, and she is currently working on the fourth in the series, Soul Mates. She is also working on a fast paced romantic suspense/thriller novel set in the Pacific Northwest and China.

Jo-Ann Carson Jo-Ann Carson author picture

Reports of Jo-Ann Carson’s death on a Gulf Island are greatly exaggerated or, at the very least, premature. The eclectic crew of ghosts that haunt her head spill onto the page in two series: The Gambling Ghosts and The Ghost & Abby Mysteries. A Viking with existential issues, a broken-hearted Highlander, a Casanova man-witch and a Pirate with a secret are just a few of the males her strong heroines encounter in tales of fantasy adventure and romance. A firm believer in the magic of our everyday lives, Jo-Ann loves watching sunrises, walking beaches near her home in the Pacific Northwest and reading by the fire. You can visit her on social media.

Whitley CoxWhitley Cox author photo

Born and raised on the West Coast of Canada and married to her high school sweetheart, with a spirited toddler and a fluffy dog. Whitley spends her days making food that gets thrown on the floor, vacuuming Cheerios out from under the couch and making sure that the dog food doesn’t end up in the air conditioner. But when nap time comes and it’s not quite wine o’clock, Whitley sits down, avoids the pile of laundry on the couch, and writes. A lover of all things decadent: wine, cheese, chocolate and spicy erotic romance, Whitley brings the humorous side of sex, the ridiculous side of relationships and the suspense of every day life into her stories. With mommy wars, body issues, threesomes and role playing, these books have everything we need to satisfy the curious kink in all of us.

Rachel Goldsworthy

An English grad, a biochemistry alum, and a paleontologist walk into a bar… And, no joke, two hours later, they’ve sketched a town and a far-flung family of cousins who inherit the local chocolate shop and its swashbuckling pirate ghost. Then they invited another writer to join the crew and she brought a parrot!
Rachel Goldsworthy is the biochem grad, although her day job is creating applied communications for a research centre at the University of Victoria. Kay GregoryKay Gregory author photo

Kay Gregory grew up in England before moving to Victoria, B.C. with her parents. There she met her husband in the unromantic setting of a dog club banquet. They were married a year later and moved to Winnipeg and then to Thunder Bay, eventually settling in Vancouver where they raised two sons and an assortment of dogs, hamsters, gerbils rats and ferrets. Over the years Kay has had more jobs than she can count – everything from removing the roe from dead herring to packaging paper bags, running a health food bar and working in a variety of offices – all experiences that provided invaluable background for her books. In 1987 a kind publisher pointed out that the suspense novel she had submitted to them was actually a romance. This led to the publication of her first book, A Star for a Ring. Since then Kay has written over 40 novels, novellas and short stories for a variety of publishers. She is currently concentrating on e-publishing some of her backlist. Her most recent book is A Woman of Impulse, the sequel to A Woman of Experience.

Helena KorinDaniela Hewson author photo

I was born in the magical city of Prague, in the Czech Republic, once known as the Paris of central Europe. I love old architecture, opera, classical music and vintage clothing. Perhaps latent memories of my early childhood are responsible. I have a degree in history and enjoy ferreting out obscure details of the lives of men and women who lived in centuries past. Writing about the Regency is my form of time-travel.

C.A. Kinnee C.A. Kinnee author photo

As a child, I told stories, not the ones that got me into trouble, but epic sagas meant to pass the time on road trips or doing chores. I thrived on building imaginary worlds and creating crazy characters.
Now I write romantic fiction, fantasy, and the occasional magazine article. Life is full of possibilities. It’s hard not to write about What if’s when every one of them holds the potential for adventure.
I’m a free-lance writer living on the west coast of British Columbia. When I’m not tied to my laptop, I’m out exploring what BC has to offer. Currently, I’m working on 2’s—book two of the Landings series and the sequel to A Trail of Embers.
Feel free to check out my blog. Send me a note and let me know what you think.

Kathleen LawlessKathleen Lawless author photo

Kathleen’s earliest memories are of wanting to be a writer.  To create stories that would touch the lives of others who love to read the way she does.   “I’m working on my 20th novel, and it’s amazing to see the changes in traditional publishing, including ebooks and the opportunities writers have to interact with their readers.”  She enjoys pushing the boundaries of traditional romance into erotic romance, romantic suspense, women’s fiction and stories for young adults.  She also knows about happy endings.  “Can you believe I wrote A Hard Man to Love with a hero named Steele, years before I met my own hero named Steel?  He’s far and away the most romantic man I’ve ever known.”  Her books have garnered rave reviews and numerous awards including Romantic Times’ K.I.S.S., a Scarlett Letter, and a Golden Quill.

Jacqui Nelson Jacqui Nelson author photo

Fall in love with a new Old West… where the men are steadfast and the women are adventurous. You’ll find Wild West scouts, spies, cardsharps, wilderness guides, and trick-riding superstars in my stories. Those are my heroines. Wait till you meet my heroes! My love for historical romance adventures with grit and passion came from watching Western movies while growing up on a cattle farm in northern Alberta. I’ve studied to be a paleontologist, computer programmer, and animator and worked in two of those fields. After three nominations and one win of the RWA® Golden Heart® award, I turned my attention to writing where the best reward is hearing from readers who enjoy my stories.
